Flying Near The Middle Of The World

Almost a week ago already, we drove to the Pacific coast in Ecuador. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful “camp site” in Tabacundo. During our three weeks here, we had the opportunity to experience very different climate zones. In Tabacundo it's dry and cool, and we enjoyed views of the big volcanos Cayambe and Cotopaxi. We flew at three different slopes, all over 10,000 feet high.

We also visited Shell at the edge of the Amazon jungle where the Ecuadorian championships for motorized scale models were held at the site of the Hobby Club Pastaza. There, the climate was much more tropical, and some flights were interrupted by typically brief tropical downpours.

Fliegen In Der Nähe Der Welt

Schon vor fast einer Woche sind wir an die Pazifikküste in Equador gefahren. Wir haben den herrlichen “Campingplatz” in Tabacundo sehr genossen. Während der drei Wochen hier konnten wir sehr unterschiedliche Klimazonen erleben. In Tabacundo ist es trocken und kühl, und wir konnten die großen Vulkane Cayambe und Cotopaxi bestaunen. Wir sind an drei Hängen geflogen, alle über 3000 m hoch.

Wir machten auch einen Abstecher nach Shell am Rand des Amazonas Dschungels. Dort wurde am Platz des Hobby Club Pastaza die ecuadorische Meisterschaft für originalgetreue Motormodelle abgehalten. Das Klima dort ist schon viel tropischer, und einige Flüge wurden durch tropische aber kurze Wolkenbrüche unterbrochen.

Volando Cerca A La Mitad Del Mundo

Ya casi hace una semana manejamos hacia la Costa Pacifica de Ecuador. Disfrutamos enormemente del hermoso “sitio de campamento” en Tabacundo. Durante tres semanas, tuvimos la oportunidad de vivir muy diferentes zonas climáticas. En Tabacundo es seco y frío. Disfrutamos del paisaje con sus dos grandes volcanes, Cayambe y Cotopaxi. Volamos en tres sitios diferentes todos a una altura mayor de 3.000 metros.

Además, visitamos Shell en el borde de la jungla amazónica a una altura de 2.000 metros donde se celebro el Campeonato Nacional de aeromodelos a escala a motor en la pista de Aeromodelismo Hobby Club Pastaza. Allá el clima es mucho mas tropical y algunos de los vuelos fueron interrumpidos por breves aguaceros típicos tropicales.
